Upcoming Scheduling Requests

Respond to Requests

Heads Up! Something Different this Sunday

It's a new year! 2016 marks a new beginning. And so does every day with Jesus! New mercies!  New discoveries! New answers to prayer! As Christians we have the privilege of walking in the "newness of life" in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:4).

To mark this new beginning, on Sunday January 17th we will have a "new beginning of the worship service" at 10:30 AM. Be sure to arrive early so you don't miss it. We are going to promptly receive His fresh self-disclosure in the Word and then break bread together (as we do on the third Sunday of the month).

The Bible is the Lord's primary means of making Himself known to His people and we are asking the Holy Spirit to reveal the Lord Jesus Christ to our hearts more fully and deeply (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Cor 3:18; 4:4-6). God's self-revelation in the Word is inexhaustible. The Lord also made Himself known in the breaking of bread (Luke 24:30,31). He makes Himself known through the many members of the body of Christ as they live out their lives in faithful obedience to Christ the Head.  So let us honor His self-disclosure among us with praise, prayer, and thanksgiving!

The only logistical change is that the Middle School Students will meet in the Umbrella's kitchen area (1rst floor, 40 Stow Street) at 10:30 for a short gathering and then will go with their teachers to the Hunt Gymnasium at 90 Stow Street. All other classes will meet in their regular locations.

We are expectant that our earnest prayers that "His kingdom come and His will be done" will be answered in many ways in our lives, families, in His church, in our communities and for the advance of His global mission.

Hope you can share in this experience.

Pastor David

You Can Make A Difference with an End of Year Gift

Today is the last day in 2015 to make a gift to New Life Community Church. Soon 2015 will slip into history and we will greet a new year of ministry opportunity.  You can help us to both finish and start strong!

As we look back on 2015 we can see God's faithful provision in strengthening and expanding the testimony of Christ in our area. We have seen conversions.  God has been at work changing lives, strengthening marriages and launching new outreach ministries. The gospel is being preached here and abroad by our members. It has been a year of faith-filled prayer and spiritual growth.

We are anticipating great things in 2016 as we move into our remodeled facility on a new campus.  We look forward to new opportunities to express the heart of Christ, communicate His message and be His hands and feet in our communities.

Your financial gifts help make this ministry possible and are greatly appreciated.  Any financial gift needs to be post-marked today, December 31 or made online before midnight at newlife.org.

Thank you once again for your faithfulness!

David K. MacAdam
Pastor, New Life Community Church

Good News for a Troubled World

The Advent Series "Good News for a Troubled World" continues this Sunday.

God became one of us to rescue us from the disaster of our self-rule. The second person of the Trinity, Immanuel, was born of a virgin. He chose His Name- Jesus- "for He would save His people from their sins" in order to reconcile us to God and give us peace (Shalom).

He who reconciled us by His death, also saves us by His life (Romans 5:10). We not only have peace derived from what Jesus did for us, but from Who Jesus IS in us!  He gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit! His presence, His life, His love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control can dominate our thoughts and actions. He is our peace!

He has the power to deliver us from guilt, fear and all forms of anxiety. He promises His presence to ward off all worry. But our experience of His indwelling peace is not automatic.

We must learn to choose love, choose joy, and choose thoughts and actions that lead to peace of mind and heart.

We encourage you to put into practice the right responses to the challenges and uncertainties you may be facing. You do not need to face them alone. The Prince of Peace is here! Let Him guard your heart and mind!

Philippians 4:6-9  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Advent Series at New Life

We wish all a Happy Thanksgiving!

The four weeks before Christmas are celebrated by many Christians as the season of Advent. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to invite our family and friends to consider the meaning and purpose of Christ's coming.

OUR THEME: THE PROMISE, THE POWER and PRESENCE OF PEACE

The gospel is good news for a troubled world. It is good news for troubled hearts.

Why did Jesus Christ come? He had a pre-ordained purpose. He came to die to rescue us from the power and penalty of sin. But the gospel does not stop there. He came that we might have life. He died that we might live with a new kind of life--- His life-- A life in the Spirit. And that life is characterized by peace.

The fourth chapter of Philippians gives us a road map to prevent us from straying from the path of peace. We are given instructions as to how we can consistently experience the power and presence of peace.

This would be a great time to invite others to receive the greatest Christmas gift of all!

CHRISTMAS EVE AT THE UMBRELLA

We look forward to a family friendly one hour Christmas Eve service at the Umbrella at 40 Stow Street at  6 PM. As you are making your holiday plans, don't forget to invite family and friends to explore the meaning of Christ's coming on this special occasion.  May the revelation of the Christ of Christmas anchor your holiday in the truth of God's love.

Thanksgiving Celebration on Sunday November 15th

We are looking forward to our annual New Life Thanksgiving Dinner which will take place at the new Concord-Carlisle High School cafeteria on Sunday November 15th after the worship service (1 PM to 3 PM). We hope people will come in the spirit of thanksgiving, contributing to our feast not only with food items, but testimonies of gratitude for what Christ has done in your lives. We have invited friends and neighbors as well as members of our church family to "behold the beauty of the Lord" as His Life is expressed in the community of the redeemed.

Be sure to sign up on Sunday, or reply to emails so we coordinate a generous supply from the Lord's bounty!

Hope to see you there!
